A new kind of Clinical Nutrition...

Eating your veggies and taking a multivitamin isn't enough to keep you healthy anymore.  We face a lot of overwhelming factors these days; we're up against genetically-modified foods, new pollutants, increased mercury exposure, chronic and excessive stress, new viruses and bacteria, and even new genetic mutations.  Luckily, high-end Clinical Nutrition is evolving into a field known as Functional Diagnostic Medicine, a newly-emerging medical subspecialty that takes a scientific, holistic approach to these new challenges so that you can feel better and get on with YOUR life!

Frustrated or dissatisfied with run-of-the-mill medical treatment?

Ask yourself these questions:

* Are you searching for a doctor who really listens and truly cares for your well-being?
* Have other healthcare providers told you that you'll just have to learn to live with it?
* Does it seem like your only options are drugs or Surgery?
* Does it seem like your doctors are giving you prescription after prescription just to get you out of their office?
* Have you been told it's all just in your head?
* Have your previous doctors not been able to find the cause of your symptoms?
* Have you had limited success in your search for solutions?
* Do you want a professional whose work complements the care you are currently receiving from other providers?

You're not alone!

Modern medicine is failing.  Regular doctors are great at dealing with emergencies or life-threatening conditions, but their protocols are designed to deal with symptoms and stabilize urgent situations using drastic methods meant for the short-term.  Their education doesn't include information on how to effectively manage (or reverse) the complex, chronic diseases we face today.  Unfortunately, most of them aren't interested in learning.

Natural methods often don't do much better, when it comes to managing serious complex degenerative conditions.  Many people end up turning to natural and holistic providers (such as naturopaths, dieticians, or non-doctor nutritionists) because they grow concerned about the accumulating side-effects and the limited (if any) mileage they get from prescription drug treatment.  These practitioners are very good at supplementing a deficient nutrient or substituting a less harmful herb in place of a harsh medication, but they usually lack the training to effectively address underlying issues, and in most states, they lack the legal ability to order the appropriate testing.  Without the valuable information gleaned from testing, they're shooting in the dark and hoping for the best.

Serious lag time. There's a huge gap between current cutting-edge research and the way most conventional doctors and holistic practitioners practice. The gap is enormous-as long as 50 years-particularly in the areas of complex, chronic illness, and nutrition. This means that conventional medical practices and many naturopathic practices are based on information from up to 50 years ago.

We've created a solution, right here in your own backyard, for people who are looking for a LOGICAL, SCIENTIFIC, and NATURAL alternative...

Advanced Clinical Nutrition by a new name: Functional Medicine

We know a whole lot more than we did 50 years ago, even 5 or 10 years ago.  We have a lot of new information about blood sugar and other nutrients, inflammation and immune system function, adrenal and thyroid gland functions, hormone balance, and liver detoxification systems.  We're starting to truly understand how nutrition, exercise, prescribed medications, high stress levels, and other lifestyle factors influence our state of health, for better or worse; we're even finding out how to use these factors to our advantage in terms of reversing or managing complex syndromes.  These conditions typically do not respond well to drugs, and simple supplements don't quite go far enough, either.

A New Approach to Nutrition: Lab Testing

First, we use extensive intake paperwork to get a glimpse of your entire life from before you were born up to today, and everything in between. This paperwork tells us a lot of information about your daily habits, stress level, brain function, quality of life, medical history, and more.  The information we gather also guides our thought process as we decide which testing is most appropriate for you.

We also look at your body chemistry (hormones, blood sugar, immune system, gastrointestinal system) with specialized full-spectrum lab testing. In doing this, we make sure we're getting the most complete picture of you in terms of mind, body, and spirit, to identify every factor that could've contributed to your current state of health.

Then, we use a whole-body approach that considers not only each body system, but also whether or not all systems are playing nice with each other. Our multi-part approach includes deep knowledge of endocrinology (how glands and hormones work), immunology (how the immune system and allergies work), biochemistry (how nutrition and absorption work), and neurology (how the nervous system--the brain and spinal cord--work).

For best results, we look at EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME. Getting to the bottom of these complex, long-term health issues takes some serious digging; that means doing all of the necessary tests, whether an out-of-touch insurance company thinks they're "medically necessary" or not.
